What a shame. (We'll be black and blue if Darlene gets hold of us!)
But I got very excited by the book-sighting. I loved book-spotting in Mad Men, too.maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13955194101659665925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-731398893178184544.post-23481674509961653852011-09-28T23:25:36.775+01:002011-09-28T23:25:36.775+01:00I agree - definitely not as good as the previous s...I agree - definitely not as good as the previous series, so far. It feels like a send up of itself in places...far too soapy and melodramatic. What was Edith up to in this episode, for example?! She would never do that. I hope it gets better, and quickly. I also hope Mary and Matthew sort things out. There are only so many painful glances across dinner tables that I can take!

But yes, I got very excited when I saw Elizabeth and her German Garden - I have exactly the same copy too!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-731398893178184544.post-53407183562117323002011-09-28T16:48:59.107+01:002011-09-28T16:48:59.107+01:00You said you wanted weekly bulletins, Darlene! You said you wanted weekly bulletins, Darlene!maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13955194101659665925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-731398893178184544.post-91043370152828633732011-09-28T15:51:47.818+01:002011-09-28T15:51:47.818+01:00Oh Mary, how can you be so cruel? I keep trying to persuade myself that it is but there's something missing. Still enjoying it, but I'll survive if I miss a week.maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13955194101659665925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-731398893178184544.post-24484761922030523962011-09-27T13:26:42.889+01:002011-09-27T13:26:42.889+01:00Oh but of course I recognised that, Mary! I am finding this series a little too melancholy so far; Maggie's one-liners are the reason I'm keeping going.StuckInABookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10017836017530130716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-731398893178184544.post-33875873985526751812011-09-27T09:13:21.706+01:002011-09-27T09:13:21.706+01:00I suppose it was a huge best-seller, Lucille; mayb...I suppose it was a huge best-seller, Lucille; maybe it took 10 years or so for books to filter down to the servants.maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13955194101659665925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-731398893178184544.post-74175843623095548512011-09-27T08:07:15.198+01:002011-09-27T08:07:15.198+01:00Hooted at that line and yes, I did notice the book...Hooted at that line and yes, I did notice the book. A strange choice I thought. I suppose it echoes the way that the upstairs girls are trying to escape the restrictions of a serviced life.Lucillehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14414527658216916537noreply@blogger.com
