Darlene, if you're reading this, do take a look - it sounds absolutely you!

I'm so glad you enjoyed Trio, Aparatchik. I've just ordered it for a musical friend for Christmas, so hoping she'll like it, too.
I wonder how many readers were yelling at Jean Lucey Pratt ... it was compelling reading, because I got so involved in her disastrous love life! I was probably...Putting Conclave on my TBR list.

I was probably halfway through Jean Lucey Pratt's diaries when I found myself shouting, "Oh, for God's sake, wake up and smell the coffee!" That phrase was coined by a popular American advice columnist and often used when people in situations like Pratt's wrote to her. Yes, she easily wins this year's Exasperation Award.

Really enjoyed Trio, and would not have heard of it if not for your blog. Too old to change my ways now!
I enjoyed Fatherland, too. Hope you love EH Young as much as I do! I've got my little 'books to read' notebook out and noted down the one about Wilhelmina Geddes; the Diana Tutton one and of course I had completely forgotten about Trio - I should have had that in the book ages ago; having read several highly complimentary reviews of it.

I have only read 'Fatherland' by Robert Harris and found it knicker gripping!

Thanks to your enthusiastic reviews of E H Young's books I have several, including 'Celia', in my to be read pile. I've read the Lucy Platt one - yes, I wanted to throttle her in places, too! The Elizabeth Jane Howard is the next library book to be read after I finish 'Days without End' by Sebastian Barry.

Writing all these wonderful books to be read down is fine - I now have to start tracking them down...

Have a good weekendVronni's Style Meanderingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17122302881528071270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-731398893178184544.post-67301966014197221562016-12-16T10:54:53.728+00:002016-12-16T10:54:53.728+00:00Love the idea of Mrs. Miniver's Throttle Award...Love the idea of Mrs. Miniver's Throttle Award!
My menfolk are Robert Harris fans, so Conclave may well find a place under the Christmas tree.Cornflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17779286635989616330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-731398893178184544.post-70887984121459904432016-12-16T02:39:58.417+00:002016-12-16T02:39:58.417+00:00Happy Christmas, Mystica.
