Rachel, I've still got some daffodils that didn't make it into the ground, was it two years ago, maybe three - but somehow I never admit defeat and throw them away.
I planted my amaryllis ages ago and had given it up for dead. I just checked it. There is a 5mm green shoot appearing so not much hope for a Christmas flower.
I never give up on them, Lucille. Dead and neglected specimens have surprised me in the past. I sometimes wonder if they'd like a feed of something though I never do.
Maybe I'll plant those tulips in the front garden before Spring.....
