It's a silly book for silly women - and it's as long as Middlemarch.

    Thank you for being the filter that can be trusted. I am unable to stay awake for longer than 10 minutes with a book in my hand at bedtime. What do you recommend?

    My recommendation for you, Lucille, would be The Waiting Years by Fumiko Enchi - but maybe you've read it. I'm envying your trip to Japan.
