On this very cold, damp day, I've just found out that this is where I'll be going on holiday next year. I put it all down to reading this book.

  1. I've wanted to go there ever since I read the trilogy, lucky you

  2. I can't get over myself being so organised. I have never in my life booked a holiday more than a week before departure, Sue. Even booked the flight in case incredibly cheap offer expires in N Year.

I've stood on the mainland looking out at Jura but never actually been to any of the Scottish islands, Janet - so I'm really looking forward to it. And to the whisky.

  3. I am positively green here. Loved those books and thought I was doing well reading them in remote(ish) Argyll. It looks amazing. Ax

  4. Try not to tumble down that hill if you go outside in the evening after a tumbler of whiskey, Mary. You could end up having a bracing swim!

The scenery looks stunning, lucky you. And thanks for highlighting the books...I choose books for an elderly woman who loves Scotland and mysteries. Off to place a hold for her.

  5. Not sure it's suitable for old ladies, Darlene. The ending is rather disturbing ... and if she's a birdlover, I'd say definitely no! It was very gripping, though.

  6. Judging by the rocks holding down the thatch , it might be just a wee bit bracing ! But the welcome will be as warm as the views are spectacular .

  7. Yes, doubt I'll come back with a suntan! But I'm not great in warm weather so that's fine.
