Caught sight of this poster on a Tube platform today and realised how much I've been craving colour. Still a few days to wait until the exhibition opens at Tate Britain.
Almost made me want to go for a swim! On the subject of white flowers I have finally given up on my mixed scented indoor collection from Sarah Raven. They have been in a state of arrested development for weeks now with only three miserable flowers showing. They are refunding me but I was looking forward to them.
Almost but not quite, Lucille - I think I got in once last year! Shame about the flowers. I always think Sarah Raven is over-priced and you're just paying for the name. Right now I have a Lidl amaryllis and a 50p Tesco orchid - both thriving alongside some straggling bulbs from Kew that are clearly too snobby to perform.
Yes, some spring colour would be nice. Notice on your sidebar you are reading Lucy Worsley's new Jane Austen blog, is it published yet? I really want to read it.
If you want some colour quickly, head to the wonderful Australian Impressionists show at the National Gallery. Worth every penny, and some great discoveries for a Pommie.
I'm with you on this. What is the exhibition?
ReplyDeleteHockney.
ReplyDeleteThe easiest thing to do when you crave colour, Mary, is to wear it! I aim to wear colour most days but today I'm all in browns....
ReplyDeleteHockney exhibition sounds good!
It's a bit beige here today as well, Veronica. I'm better at making sure I always have flowers but I bought white ones this week.
ReplyDeleteThat swimmer is one kick away from bashing his head on the wall of the pool!
ReplyDeleteYou are just too down to earth, Darlene. Maybe it's a series and the next one is called Concussion II?

ReplyDeleteNot until May, Nicola - I'm enjoying it, very readable.
