I seem to be in the minority but I was losing the will to live ... grown-up Enid Blyton or modern Agatha Christie, whatever, it's mind-numbingly tedious.

  1. Yes. I loved her previous one, The Appeal, but this one... I got stuck, waiting for the point to come, and read Claire Tomalin's biography of Thomas Hardy instead. I will probably return to TTC but just to find out if anything really does happen.

  4. Two recommendations for The Appeal - but I won't be in a rush to read this author again, I really found this one tiresome.

  5. I think you would like The Appeal. A much better book relayed in emails between a village amateur dramatics group.
