Good Things in England today ...
Drinking oolong tea in the sunshine, listening to birdsong.
Pussywillows on the riverbank.
Shaking a yellow duster and feeling gratified at all that dust (and one desiccated spider).
The scent of gardenias in Petersham Nurseries.
Walking into Waitrose just as they're knocking down the price of big bunches of tulips.
Finding Miss Buncle's Book on the library shelf.
And looking forward to two more series of Danish TV. (Maybe now she'll find time to wash that jumper at last.)

    Thanks for the reminder that I need to have a whip around with a cloth today. Wonder what my dessicated bug count will be? And weren't you lucky to get a deal on flowers!

    At least your bug was dessicated . If I don't act soon , ours will be taking over entirely .
    It's all this sun suddenly shining in through the streaky windows , it's highlighting corners I'd almost forgotten about !

    Miss Buncle's Book = fabulous. Add cut tulips in a jar on the windowsill and a cup of tea and life is grand.

    That cheap bunch of tulips is still looking wonderful and hasn't even drooped yet (on the windowsill, how did you know, Tabitha?)
    I'm reserving judgement on Miss Buncle. Don't think this is going to be one of my favourite Persephones. (Actually, it isn't a Persephone, my edition is a real old ladies' large-print library book.)

    Oh that is too funny about the sweater! I was assuming she was washing the ivory one when she was wearing the dark grey one--at least I was hoping so!

    And the oolong at Petersham at the moment is amazing. Maybe we could meet up for tea sometime--if I promise not to wear mucky cow boots!

    I'm so short-sighted, Kristina - I thought she only had one and was wondering how she'd ever manage to get it dry! No wonder I lose the plot when I'm so distracted by her lauandry.
    Would be lovely to have tea sometime. I think cow boots would only add cachet ... you'll find all the Michelin* ladies-who-lunch copying you by next week!
