Cornflower recommends some blogs to brighten the day, much needed at the moment - including Charlie's whose elegant posts about food make me despair of my own slapdash efforts. (Memo to self: do not attempt blog-repairs when should be keeping an eye on paella.)
And Rachel has been canvassing to discover what her readers look for in blogs.
Perhaps because I'm more of a words-person, I'm drawn to blogs with beautiful pictures.
This is one that's been a favourite for years.
And I can't understand a word of it.

I am very drawn to Gracious Living blogs, both Aspirational/Posh and Insouciantly/Bohemian.
They provide a useful distraction from that first tentative step towards Gracious Living ... that involves running around with the vacuum cleaner.

Oh goodness more lovely new blogs to read. I love Charlie's blog too. Rachel's looks right up my alley with her Ravilious banner and Finnish blogs are just fabulous aren't they? Such wonderful atmospheric photography and completely incomprehensible text. What a marvellous language Finnish is.

I know. You can't even puzzle out the odd word, Sue.
I was tickled by your housework post (I can't leave comment on your blog at the moment, I don't know why.) Do I detect a graduate of the Flylady school ...
You are clearly one of her success stories. I was horribly impressed by your tidy house.

Heavens no! I can't bear that flylady stuff. I think, apart from Katie, we are all naturally tidy people, and of course I don't work so I'm not exactly pressed for time. I've even got time to learn Finnish.

How I wish I had been born a tidy person. However, am now so shortsighted that dust on skirtboards doesn't bother me ... and knees too creaky for closeups. This is great consolation of middleage but increases risk of turning into a cobwebby Miss Havisham.

Thanks, Mary, on the leads for new blogs. They're great, and so is yours.

Vialiivia is wonderful! I also can't speak a word of Finnish, but her photos are so beautiful.

I know, Simon. I always feel it's the life I should be living! Might even spoil it if I could understand it.
