Tame or pornographic? Put me down for mildly boring and toe-curlingly embarrassing.
Not a good start to the BBC's 20th century classics series. However, Lady Chatterley does wear some stunning hats. Although somehow I don't think that's supposed to be the point.
Also, I was mildly disappointed in Mellors when they eloped, bowling along in Sir Clifford's expensive car. Wasn't he supposed to be a man of nature, against the industrial machine etc etc?
Oh well, Like I said. Some fabulous millinery.

On the other hand, I've just watched the next in the series, An Inspector Calls - with an excellent cast - and it's very good indeed.

Next up,  remakes of The Go-Between and Cider with Rosie.

Most telly leaves me cold these days Mary. I had high hopes for Home Fires but gave up after a couple of episodes when it turned into a predictable soap opera. I am however always grateful for your reviews. I think I'll just wait it out until the next series of Poldark.

I know, Home Fires was so disappointing! I've even gone off Bake-Off, it's become so formulaic. And Lady Chatterley ... excruciating! When you think of all the books that have never been adapted, I can't think why they have to do Cider with Rosie and The Go-Between - haven't seen those two yet but the originals were just fine, so why bother!

Oh, thats too bad. We need another season of Outlander or Sherlock. Maybe in the fall...

Outlander left a big hole in my life, Sunday!
