Well, you couldn't fault the acting, Veronica - some brilliant performances - but heavens, it was relentless! Too much grief and mourning for a Sunday morning. But don't let me put you off! I'd fallen for that ocean light on the posters that are all over the Tube so I wasn't quite expecting what I got.
I know this is a very late comment. But, I went to see this last night, and I loved it. I know it was deeply depressing in many ways but the acting and the photography were amazing. I think I might need to visit Boston.
This comment is a bit late in the day, but I did go to see this yesterday evening. And whilst not exactly an uplifting film, we really enjoyed it. The acting was understated and just right, and the filming of the area was perfect (my companion grew up in the area near Boston). In an odd way, even when you write about something you haven't enjoyed, I still feel compelled to give it a whirl. And,I must say, you certainly keep up an unflagging pace, Mary.

Oh, how dreary! But according to the poster it's a 'masterpiece' - a dreary masterpiece maybe?

As ever, I am grateful for your guidance. La La Land it is.
Well, the trailer looked good, Lucille!
