Anybody else watching The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, the perfect 1950s housewife turned stand-up comedienne? I'm loving her swing coats and Jacques Fath costumes, Cherries in the Snow lipstick (launched in 1952, still selling), her chic little hats and gloves, even her glamorous chiffon nighties ... and all that wonderful Douglas Sirk colour has lifted a very grey, drizzly weekend.

I know you work, Mary, so how on earth do you find the time to watch all these programmes, go to the cinema, exhibitions and theatre; read and bake? Don't you sleep?

I've really enjoyed Mrs. Maisel, as you say, the costumes are well, marvelous. The actors are excellent, too. I don't know if The Gilmore Girls was ever available in the UK, but both are produced (and largely written) by Amy Sherman Palladino, known for rapid-fire dialogue.
I'm sure there'll be another series of Mrs Maisel, as they left her rather hanging there at the end, don't you think? The Gilmore Girls was available here, but it didn't really catch on - I think it had been going for years before we caught up with it.
