I was drawn to the lovely covers of this crime classics series and intended this for holiday reading when I was up in the Lake District a few weeks ago.
I've only just got around to it now but, to be honest, it hinges on rather too much detail about rural petrol deliveries - and I'm getting bored!

Yes, that's the same author. It's okay, just keep grinding to a bit of a standstill with it. I also read Murder Underground - easy reading but completely forgettable! It's set in Hampstead so could well someone who knows the area.

Appeal to someone who knows the area, I meant!

I agree - I read the Cornish one and was also bored - very little Cornish atmosphere and too much explanatory dialogue. Pity.

At least I'm not the only one, Tess. In fairness, it's very much set in the everyday working Lake District, not the tourist version.
