Mustang is sweet and life-affirming and shocking and heart-breaking - and far and away the best film I have seen this year.

I have just viewed the trailer for this film and will definitely be watching it. Many thanks for the heads up.

It's a great film, Jacqui - wish it had won the Oscar - but do be quick, because I don't think it will be in cinemas much longer.

So glad you went to see it Mary. I don't get to the cinema half as much as I like but was so glad to have caught Mustang. It certainly deserves international recognition.

Thank you for the timely reminder, LuluAnna - I think if I hadn't gone this week, I'd have missed it as it's only on in a handful of cinemas now.

A recommendation like that is hard to resist. There's a small cinema downtown that shows independent films 'sometimes' so I'm going to watch for this to show up. In any case, it's definitely one for the order department at my library. Thanks, Mary!

I loved this movie and think it is so important for everyone to see. It came and went here in Los Angeles and I wish more people had seen it. An excellent film about women and freedom. One of the best movies of the year!

It came and went very quickly here, too, Sunday - got excellent reviews but when I've mentioned it to friends, they've never heard of it. I rather wished it had won the Oscar instead of Son of Saul which was so desperately bleak.
