My new guilty pleasure ...Bake-Off-Vlaanderen. (You can watch it from the UK. I hope it won't prove too addictive!) Of course, I can't understand a word of it but they're looking for de beste koek - de top koek - de koek der koeken - de koekoek en de flopkoek ... so you get the gist of it and niet goed is niet goed, no matter where your Bake-Off tent is pitched.

Oh, that has to be fun ... and so is your translation. :)

I don't think I dare become addicted to another bake off!

That's what I'm thinking, Gina! Must not go back on a binge-watch.BUt it's kind of fascinating looking for subtle differences - the Flemish bakers seem to go for fluorescent colour in their bakes and their clothes. And there's farm animals in the grounds.

I'm fluent in Flem now! Brilliant.

Flemish Bake Off here I come! Who can resist a 60's style ladies bathing hat cake and weird cat basket. Pru Leith would have a field day.

A bathing cap - of course!

Stop it, Mary! There's a shockingly reduced level of night-time reading going on in my house due to this addictive viewing. It does look like fun though.....

Ah, that reminds me of trying to learn Swedish, from a tape, before a Swedish holiday years ago. I can't remember the spelling but do remember that if you had to see a dentist he might say something that sounded like "Sayeee 'Ah'," and if you went to a dance, a chap might ask, "Vill u dansen?" Neither of these things happened.
