They were filming a commercial outside the flower shop at the corner of my street this morning, in the pouring rain.
It made me realise that with the proper lighting, and seen through rose-coloured glasses, ordinary life on an ordinary street can seem as glossy as a movie.
Tonight I rounded that corner again -
And the foxes had been at the bin bags.

You will think I'm mad but I would really, really love to cuddle a fox. The ones roaming around the bins probably wouldn't be up for it though.
Darlene... I think you're mad. Must say the ones around here are brazen. We spotted four on the way home last night, trotting down the middle of the road.
They are dreadful here too, I think they know Tuesday is recycling day, they are out in posses.
Re filming a few years ago we had an episode of 'the Bill' recorded in our house, it was amazing to see so many people, and it paid for my son's pre-Sandhurst Gap year!
Jude, I can't think what they'd film in my place ... possibly a remake of Steptoe and Son, looking round my study!
But I'd swear the foxes know when it's bin day.
Oh Mary, a poor black bear wandered into a neighbourhood a couple of miles from our house yesterday. The elementary school was locked up tight while all sorts of people tried to round it up safely, it didn't end well for the bear I'm afraid.
Gosh, Darlene, that really puts our foxes into perspective. Was thinking of you today as I was book-browsing on Charing X Road ... found some bargains so maybe Rachel didn't get there first!
