Mrs Minimalist's Diary  ...
At 6pm yesterday evening, I took possession of my newly-painted study and gazed admiringly at the shiny expanse of emptiness that was my desk. Computer, printer, keyboard, phone, mousemat, red Moleskine diary ...
At 6pm this evening, I notice a pair of pink spotty socks, two cereal bowls, two spoons, a fork, the kitchen scissors, my Great Expectations mug/teabag included, a broken makeup mirror, lens case, tweezers, a library book, a woolly scarf, a window-cleaning cloth, a Biro, and two notebooks.
Damn.
Must Kondo harder.

I've been looking at that book - is it good? I'm always highly skeptical of my own ability to be anything approaching minimalist! How lovely to have a newly done office! I just got a desk yesterday and am so in love with it, but I have a feeling it won't be looking pristine and decluttered for much longer....

I've been throwing away sackloads, Miranda - but it's more down to builders standing over me,saying, 'Must be clear by tomorrow,' than any book. But my desk was ridiculous. You could have had an archaeological dig on it.

Evidence of a full life! Can't make, write, draw, cook without making some mess. Sounds good.

Still trying to convince Richmond Libraries to buy the book--might have to break down and buy it myself--but then does that count as more clutter?! x

I wish I could blame rampant creativity, Katharine - but I would be lying.

I got it from the library, Kristina - it is definitely more clutter. And mostly waffle, like all these books.
