Oh dear, it's been two months - is Mrs M displaying any vital signs? I don't like to declare her dead after so many years! She's still gadding about but has lost the urge to write. I felt like I hadn't been to the theatre for ages - although looking at the sidebar, it's more that I haven't seen anything I've particularly enjoyed. But last night's Much Ado at the National was a brilliant night out on a warm evening - balmy stroll across the river, quick Pimm's to get in the mood, and Shakespeare that was as 'wow' as any big West End musical. Lots of laughs and fabulous sets and costumes - I'd happily go again tonight!

Glad to see you back, discussing things that I'll never get to see. Culture at second hand...

Hi Pam, good to hear from you too. I have so many good intentions to get back in my stride - maybe when the heatwave breaks! Remind me when I'm moaning about heating bills come winter!

Hurray! You're back. Was discussing this with a friend last Tuesday who was going to London to watch it. It was being live streamed at the same time to Vue cinemas; made a mental note to book tickets and promptly forgot! I blame the heat...

Good to see your revival. UorB was resuscitated briefly but no one noticed and I’ve lost the ability to write in paragraphs.
Covid is my present excuse for inactivity but I do miss blogs and - “Hello Pam!” - being able to comment on most of them. We will see how this goes.

I've just been over to UorB and admired your lovely photos, Lucille - but it wouldn't let me leave a comment. Maybe if I try another browser. Oh, for the days when it was all so easy and friendly!
Sorry you have succumbed to Covid. I looked at the local stats yesterday for the first time in ages - at peak hypochondria, I checked every day! If you believe the numbers, it has almost disappeared - and yet I know more people than ever who are stricken!

Hello, Vronni - lovely to hear from you. Sorry you missed Much Ado and I sympathise - if I don't book things straight away, I completely forget. Age? Heat? I think my brain atrophied during lockdown when there was nothing I needed to remember!

I’m pleased you’re back - I have missed your excellent recommendations! Am off to see Much Ado at the end of the month, dragging myself out of my summer torpor.

Lovely to hear from you, Xiao Mao - I'm surprised I have any readers left! I'm sure you'll enjoy the play - it's just the thing for summer torpor! I'm feeling so much livelier now we've had rain!

Please don't go, Mary. I love your blog and updates. How would I know about all these things to do and places to go etc. ( I did keep checking in to see if you had posted). xxsue

The sets and costumes were to die for - it's been quite a while since I've seen anything so no-expenses-spared.

Yes, really lavish - and so lovely to be part of an audience that's really enjoying it.

Definitely don't go! How would I know what I'm definitely never going to see in London without you?

Sadly, neither of us will being seeing much this weekend, Pam - no buses, no Tube - I'm grouchy as I didn't twig until last night that the buses were off too! In walking distance - well, it's an exciting choice between parks. library and Tesco!
