We didn't quite manage to visit a Scottish castle a day, but it wasn't far short. First there was Drum Castle, above, which has beautiful gardens.
Then Eilean Donan, the castle that launched 1000 shortbread tins ...

The ruins of Duntulm on Skye, on a very windy day, with drifts of primroses and violets on the cliffs ...

And Dunvegan. where we saw Flora MacDonald's corsets ...

And finally Crathes Castle with its Rapunzel-let-down-your-hair turrets.

I don't mind the hustle and bustle of London but those views are nothing short of stunning, Mary. Was it as peaceful and serene as it looks? Please don't tell me there were construction cranes anywhere near...unless they were rescuing Rapunzel.

No cranes, not a footstep on the beach, Darlene ... and castles have tea-shops! Are you tempted?

Love images Mary; I adore Scotland and have recently been back to beautiful Argyll where we saw an Eagle - such excitement!

It's all lovely, Toffeeapple. We saw a sea eagle from the ferry - at least, I squinted shortsightedly and saw a bird-shaped blob sitting on a rock. But your eagle sounds more exciting!
