Autumn colour at Kew. Spectacular and cheery - but it's all plastic, albeit recycled. I'm no eco-warrior, but that doesn't sit right. A glorious day, though - I dozed off on a bench in the rose garden where there are still plenty of roses.

Goodness me, Mary, you have been getting about! I was wondering about 'Emily' and your review has me intrigued...

I'm home tonight, Vronni - and wondering why there's never anything apart from serial killers on TV! I enjoyed Emily - although I think the younger generation will go away thinking it's all biographical fact. And I (mostly) enjoyed The Son on Monday evening - excellent performance from Hugh Jackman as the father although it's a bit slick and Netflix-y. (Don't think Netflix has anything to do with it, but you know what I mean!) There's a brief appearance by Anthony Hopkins as the toxic grandfather, which confused me slightly as he was The Father with Olivia Colman and the two films are part of a trilogy, but different families.
